VFR AGM and Holiday Party

by admin

Just after 3pm on December the 10th, the AGM commenced with an opening video put together by Kai Scott of photo’s that have been compiled over the year.  Following this were opening remarks by President, Rohan Hare where we received a quick glance of the club overall and were introduced to the current board members as well as one of our founding members, Erik Graff.

Peter Hurst took to the stage to give us a run down on the club’s financial summary before Ian Wong gave us a synopsis of the key races/events the club has participated in.
Guy McAuliffe shared with us some of the social events that Laurie Reemeyer and himself have organized over the year and thanked some of our hosts.
Rohan continued with sharing some statistics about our Online Media presence and gave us a run down on the results of Pride Run & Walk.
Awards were handed out, but unfortunately some of the recipients were not there to receive them. The awardees for 2016 include (in no particular order)

  • Steve Carlson & Craig Elworthy – “Accommodus Award”
  • Neil Boucher – “Leader of the Pack”
  • Chris Hallamore – “Rookie of the Year”
  • Anna Vander Munnik – “Spirit of VFR”
  • Marcus Tang, Rudi Klauser, & Neil Johnston – “Thank You”
  • Preston Corrigan – “Up and Coming”
  • Olivier Couture – “Beledeva Award”
  • Christopher Piche – “Athlete of the Year”
  • Neil Johnston – “Ananta Award”
  • Mark Rozenberg – “Presidents Award”

Clare Hauer then made an announcement we’ve been waiting several weeks to hear, and that’s the results of the logo vote. With a total of 27 out of 61 votes, the ‘City Skyline with Colour Blend***’ is now the new official logo for the club.

On towards the formalities, the membership unanimously passed two resolutions that go hand in hand.
The board of directors for the year 2017 is now made up of the following people:

  • Rohan Hare
  • Ian Wong
  • Peter Hurst
  • David Rivers (Dar)
  • Christopher Piche
  • Ann Dowdell
  • Stephanie Williams
  • Michela Toscano
  • Nicholas Soverel

The second resolution was to reduce the board membership from 10 members to 9.

Stepping down include:

  • Leifka Vissers (2 years)
  • Laurie Reemeyer (2 years)
  • Guy McAuliffe (1 year)
  • Clare Hauer (2 years)
  • Mark Rozenberg (6 years)

Vancouver Frontrunners would like to thank each of the members stepping down for volunteering their time to make VFR the club it is today. Each of you have played an important role and we’re lucky to have had you.
We would also like to make a special mention to Mark Rozenberg. 6 years of service, in multiple roles… amazing! You are a kind and selfless person who has contributed so much to the club and we’re very fortunate to have had you. Thank you for everything.

Website Update

by admin

Our website should now be fully functional, albeit a few cosmetic mishaps.
We’re in the process of designing a new site in a development environment and can’t wait to show it off to you soon.
In the meantime, should you not be able to find anything on this site, please feel free to use the contact us form and we’ll try to answer any questions you might have.

We’re Updating Our Website

by admin

We’ve decided it’s time for a new look and feel to our website, and with that we also decided to move hosting providers.

While we’re trying to make the transition as smooth as possible, it doesn’t always work out that way. As such, you may notice that some of our webpages are displaying oddly, or if you’re not a techy, then it might also look like jibberish.

We are working on this and hope to have everything appearing nicely and with a fresh new look.

Should you have any questions or comments, please contact us either on Facebook, or using the email address contact-us /@/ vancouverfrontrunners.org

Until we get this site looking the way we want it too, please visit: https://vanfrontrunners.wordpress.com/ to visit our original site.

Check back soon for our new and updated website.

McArthur Glen Sponsors Pride Run

McArthur Glen Sponsors Pride Run
Richmond BC, Canada – July 13, 2015: Unidentified people in the new McArthurGlen Designer Outlet near the Vancouver Airport on July 13, 2015. McArthurGlen Designer Outlet was designed as a luxury shopping destination and offers 376,000 square feet of retail space.

Vancouver’s McArthur Glen Designer Shopping Centre are supporting Pride Run & Walk this year by donating a $100 gift card, to be used as a door prize at the upcoming Pride Run on July 24th.

In addition to awarding the fastest people in their gender categories, and the best dressed awards, we want to ensure that everyone will have a chance at taking home a fabulous prize. We feel this makes our event a little different to others, as everyone has a chance at winning something.

Thanks to the kind folks at McArthur Glen. We appreciate your generosity so much!!
